Here is my write up for switching to a
JBL 6 Disc in dash from a
JBL Single CD changer.
First thing, do not buy the Sienna unit as it does not fit perfectly with the Silver Bezel that surrounds the head unit. The 2004
JBL Single disc unit has a cutout at the edges of the face plate that creates a "lip" around the edge. The Sienna
JBL 6 Disc, does not have the cutout so it hits the silver bezel in the back. Through some cutting and sanding, it is probably possible, but I didn't want to go through that route. I found this out the hard way and now I have to sell the Sienna
JBL Unit (see it on ebay...) The Sienna unit though does work mechanically and functions just like from the factory.
Fortunately a member on the board (Prozac), had just recently done the Navigation
swap and had his factory
JBL 6 Disc from his 2005 SE as well as the silver bezel and A/C-Trip-clock unit. The bezel and the A/C-Trip-clock unit are necessary to accomodate the 2005
JBL 6 disc unit. The 2005
JBL 6 Disc has different dimentions so this is why you needed different trim pieces. He needed the trim piece and my A/C-Trip-clock from my 2004 4Runner to accomodate his Navigation, so we worked out a deal and swapped parts.

If you look closely at the
JBL Single and Sienna
JBL 6 Disc, you can see the lip on the outer edge. With that lip cutout you can use the outer bezel and A/C controls that came with your Single Disc 4Runner. You could also try shaving the back of the bezel, but I wasn't brave enough. The Sienna
JBL unit does "fit" but it is not flush and makes the panels stick out. Well hopefully this will help someone, if you have any questions let me know...
