Color Matched Grill 07 Sport

Well,

I bought my 4Runner almost 2 weeks ago now and I love it but there is one thing that I can't get out of my mind. The Chrome Grill. For me, it's the only thing that makes it Unperfect. With the color matched grill it would be complete. My wife thinks I have lost it, she doesn't understand why I want to change it out so bad.

What I'm trying to find out is if anybody has changed the chrome grill for a color matched one on a 2007. I've done a search on here and found out a lot about the 2006 version. Is it the same as the 06. Does anybody have a part# that I can use to order. Texas Toyota where I got the car says that I can't get a Toyota OEM part and that it would have to be aftermarket. They said they could paint it for $400.00. That's crazy to me.

Let me know if anybody out there knows anything.

I am surprised Texas Toyota told you that. Tell them you want a Black 2007 Limited Grill (Part # #53100-35A00-CO) and give them your paint code (202 I believe)

Click the pic for my Limited Grill write-up...

J.A on your site you have a different part number than what you said above.... Also what color is my 4 runner... Its not black and its not gray its like inbetween....I cant find where it says the color anywhere.

Thats correct, different part #. My rig is Titanium, perfecdark80's is Black.

You'd have to post a pic and the model year to identify the color but if it is an 2006-2007 it may be Shadow Mica and the part # would be #53100-35A00-B2 Color Code 1F4.

Thanks All. My wife finally gave me the go ahead to get the grill. Might have something to do with the fact that I bought her a New IPOD for our 1st wedding Anniversary I'll be calling the dealers on Monday. Any idea on what would be a good price to pay?

thanks again for your suggestions. JA - Thanks especially for the part #. The people over at Texas Toyota looked at me like I was insane when I was asking them about it.

Pictures on the way as soon as I get it installed.

Later.

Retail price $178, that being said, any internet retailer including Texas Toyota should be able to sell it for 20%-25% off of that price.

Finally ordered it

So I finally ordered the new color matched Grill. I think I got a great price. I called a few dealers and they wanted between 179 - 190. Then I jumped on toyotaoemparts.com and found it for $133.00. It's shipping tomorrow so hopefully i'll have it for the weekend. Thanks again for everyone's input. I'll have to post pictures of the install once i'm done.

Later.

picking mine up at the dealer today after work

cost $151 after 15% rebate

You should try toyotaoemparts.com. Save yourself $20.00 and it's free shipping.

But nevertheless, congrats on getting the grill. Hopefully we'll both love it and have no issues installing it.

it's too late now...but i checked out that site, and i don't know if the search function is down, but it currently only allows you to search for two cars, the Solara and the Yaris...

Are you talking about the Toyota dealership off 820 near NorthEast Mall? I live just a couple miles from there and had already called and priced a grille there. Odd they acted so clueless towards your question.

Glad I havent already ordered one yet though, I'll try that link you posted. We have the same color 4Runner if yours is the Shadow Mica, 1F4 paint code.

Nevermind I just remembered it was the one in Grapevine, then I read the other post you made again and saw it there too. I think the one down off 820 near my house is Freeman Toyota if I remember right.

Agreed! Definitely more stealthy, and even more 'mean' looking. It basically gives me "a Limited on an SR5 budget", lol. I hope to post pics in the next few days, hopefully i can get my new wheels put on tonight :)

Has anyone here done this mod on a Shadow Mica Sport Edition? Please post some pics as I'd really love to see it. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone tried this mod that already had a Toyota bug shield installed before hand? My SE came with a bug shield already on it (port installed option) so I'm thinking in might be a little more difficult to change the grill than if I didn't have the bug shield.

I did. The hood protector screws on/off easily with 6 screws. The annoying thing is you'll have to re-put "stickies" (get them free at your dealer) to put on the new grille -- these are for the 2 center screws...

i haven't forgot about posting pics of my grille mod -- just washed my truck today, i'll take pics tomorrow ;):
