Preferred "Bug Deflector"

I've used the Weathertech deflector and the Canadian (Form Fit) deflector.
1) Weathertech:
Pros: installs in existing holes under hood; doesn't touch the hood in any way; doesn't require rubber bumbers; high angle helps keep the bugs off my shield
Cons: high angle is ugly; reflects the orange light from above the headlights during night time driving; added wind noise
2) Canadian
Pros: Awesome look; extra hood protection; hard to get means more oohs and ahhs; low/no extra wind noise; doesn't destract from nice 4th Gen lines
Cons: more work to install; doesn't help as much with bugs (although at high speeds nothing truly helps); hard to get
My vote is the Canadian version. I just put it on and don't plan on taking it off any time soon.

My vote is for the Toyota OEM. I drove 1900 miles from Michigan to Georgia and back and it worked very well at deflecting the bugs at 75 mph. The only ones that got through to the windshield were the really big ones.
I don't notice any additional wind noise and it is easy to clean behind.

Wow,the thread from the dead. 
I like my AVS version which IMO is the best looking and conforms to the hood line nicely,easy to clean behind and stays off the sheetmetal with out bumpstops even tho' they are supplied with them.
$45 and took about three minutes to install.

I like the US Toyota OEM version the best. The Canadian version is nice, but I honestly don't like the looks of it or of any of the others on the market and cleaning underneath it, would be a nightmare.
The OEM version is VERY well made, doesn't wiggle in the slightest, which surprised me as it was very flexible out of the box. It's easy to clean and clean under and it has a nice aggressive appearance and you don't have to drill a single hole.
The only downside...the installation instructions were a joke! Completely useless.

Toyota oem for me. Easy to wash/clean under...and i don't mind the higher (raised up above the hood) profile.
I don't know how effective other deflectors are, but i know when driving at night, i can see the flight paths of bugs diverted up and over the windshield with the oem deflector. I took it off briefly after i installed my new color-coded grille, and would frequently see/hear bugs smash dead into the windshield. So i think it's doing it's job...

Installed the Toyota OEM deflector, easier to clean behind it without the need to taking it off.

Form fit hood guard
I just joined this forum, and I own an '07 sport edition. I am looking for a hood guard/bug deflector that form fits the '07 grill. The one you posted wraps over the top of the chrome strip just like what I need. Can you tell me the part number and maybe how I can get my hands on this? Also, do you know any other models that fit the grill the way this one does. I don't like the ones that go straight across and cut off the top part of the grill. I have worked with several after market dealers, but they all show a picture of the '04/'05 grill. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Hopefully they have it in stock. That's the only deflector that i know off that fits that way, i actually sold mine recently, nothing wrong with it, just didn't like how it looked when i got my color keyed grill

Blindside......sorry about the question. I just saw the other thread on the "Canadian" bug deflector. It mentioned some websites. Thanks for the great picture. I'm sure a lot of people out there are trying to find something that fits this way.

You didnt put an option in the poll for "none".
I think all bug shields look horrible IMHO. I had someone give me a brand new high quality bug sheld for my Ram once, I put it on just cuz it was free, and shortly took it back off because it was so damn ugly. I'll just keep some Rain-X on hand to keep my windshield treated and easy to clean. Cant stand crap bolted on the outside of a vehicle, detracts from the body lines and draws too much attention to itself just being there.

I just put on my McNeil WeatherTech Hood Deflector yesterday.
I think it looks sweet. I did not notice any increased wind noise with it either. I did notice some when I have had them on previous vehicles (namely a '98 GMC Sierra.)
One thing about it though is that it sits up very high and took some getting used to while driving it. Much higher than ones I have previously owned. Then again I like to sit in a very high position while driving.
Got the McNeil Side Vent Shades arriving today and other than new tires and skid plate that ought to complete my outward changes until I sneak in some Muth mirrors.
RamThis - I have yet to see a Ram look decent with one of those on it. I think the Ram's lines are just too drastic (I like the look though) and it doesn't take much to throw the look off.

ConnondaleMan: Do you have a pic of your truck with the hood guard? I am trying to find one for my T4R. I like the "canadian" one, but would love to see some options.
